Bio +

Kate is an English photographer who splits her time between London, Berlin and the remote village of Deia in the mountains of Mallorca where she works from a self-built studio between the ocean and forest. She constantly travels the globe on assignments, forever drawn to capture new ideas and stories through her exotic kaleidoscopic lens. Her pure and atmospheric photography seduces you into an otherworldly psychedelic paradise - with off-beat colour drenched landscapes that take you on a mind-bending road trip of crazy cacti, hot hazy vistas, flickering palms and colossal rock forms; and her wildly beautiful nudes build intoxicating narratives that radiate a romantic and bohemian alchemy.

Kate instinctively pulls together like-minded creative teams on her shoots, tapping into the artistic community around her to source models, stylists, designers, surfers, skaters - making the whole experience feel more like one big adventure as she leads them in the creation of sets, finding locations, making and lending clothes, finding props and even cooking delicious meals for the crew - to enjoy the day so that shooting pictures is just part of the whole process of the trip. Kate naturally empowers her subjects to feel free and full of courage in front of the camera, to own their flaws and go with the flow. This ability to put her subjects at ease builds a deep bond of trust that enables her to explore more risqué ideas and ignite deliciously exciting, often naked, escapades up mountains, through fields of wildflowers and into the mysterious unseen depths of the ocean. Kate’s organic philosophy also seeps into her surreal manipulation of the film itself, with dramatic and inventive use of lens filters, illustration, light leaks or even droplets of seawater to create her instantly recognisable deliriously dreamlike aesthetic.

Kate’s free-spirited vision feels like a rush of something new and untainted, a truly captivating and natural perspective, she continues to prove that if you shoot what you love with a sense of unfiltered escapism and the abandonment of preconceptions you can create wonderful things.
